How to backup your iPhone or iPad to iCloud
When you choose to backup your data to iCloud you are choosing to store a copy of your data on Apple's servers. You can choose which parts of your data you wish to backup to iCloud e.g. Photos, Messages, Mail, Contacts, Calendar etc in your iCloud Settings on your device. When you turn on iCloud Backup, your device will automatically backup any time it is charging and connected to Wi-Fi with the screen locked. You should bear in mind you may need to upgrade to additional iCloud storage for a fee if your data size exceeds your current plan.
